South African Rapper Cassper Nyovest has revealed how a struggle it is for many African musicians who wish making it to the American music industry, “It is a blessing, that Americans are very patriotic,” he explained.
Speaking to America’s Breakfast Club, Nyovest explains that because of the devotion that Americans have since way back had, it made it difficult for foreign music making its way into the market.

“But right now, through the Wiz Kid and Davido collaborations, they have started becoming more interested in African music,” he adds. Nyovest admits how he always held close to the dream of moving to America, “If you can make it in America, then you can make it to the whole world,” he explains. When he visited America, he realized different, “I figured out how difficult it is, for there are over 20,000 Rappers trying to make it, so I realized how there are so many black people in Africa who would appreciate my music,” he states. Nyovest decided to settle and produce his own sound from Africa.
Nyovest’s 2017 album dubbed Tuto went Gold on its release, yet Sweet and Short his 2018 album went platinum too, which set a great mark.
