East African Film maker Emerges 2018 Berlinale Victor

Representing East Africa, yet Rwanda for the first time is film maker Samuel Karemangingo Ishimwe, who walked away a victor of the ‘Silver Bear Award for Best Short Film at the Berlinale.

Ishimwe’s film ‘Imfura’ was premired in the competition this year, where a total of 22 films from 18 countries were into competition for the Golden and the Silver Bear, as well as the Audi Short Film Award, worth € 20,000, and a nomination for the European Film.

“Every life known its own bitterness, and every love known a sweet, caress!”….From mixed feelings that words  can’t express, I want to applaud this great team…(Ryumugabe Remy is not in the picture as always) for making the journey of this film a great human experience…I’m truly humbled,” he stated through his facebook account.
