The highly anticipated Netflix’s third season of Bridgerton 2024 is finally confirmed. With its premiere recently held earlier this month in Johannesburg, South Africa, the grand event themed ‘Regency Era Splendor: Into The Spotlight’ attracted notable guests who gathered to bear witness to the cherished period drama were top outstanding African celebrities.

Bridgerton tells a magnificent story of accomplishment, renaissance, and boldness as the series’ favorite characters and a few new faces come to light. Premiering worldwide, the new season will debut on Netflix this month and is in two parts. While the first four episodes will premiere on May 16, 2024, these will be followed by the next four on June 13 this year.

The premiere event hosted by Netflix, attracted and featured several African acts to it, from countries from Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Botswana, and South Africa.  Adjoa Andoh, who stars as Lady Agatha Danbury in Bridgerton was the special guest, as the event was characterized by outstanding entertainment featuring among others; South African group Beyond Vocals Acapella and Grammy-nominated artist Musa Keys. 

From Kenya; Elsa Majimbo, a Los Angeles-based Kenyan model, comedian, and chess champion. Other Kenyan counterparts included renowned TV and media personality Amina Abdi Rabar, celebrated film star Catherine Kamau alias Kate Actress, alongside well-known actors: Jackie Matubia and Manasseh Nyagah. 
Kenyan celebrity stylists: Lady Mandy and Brian Babu weren’t a miss for this prestigious premiere event. Kate, Amina, Manasseh, and Jackie’s custom-made outfits were all designed and made by Kenyan designers: Peggy’ O’ by Onyango Peggy, Afrostreet by Yvonne Adhiambo, Bolo Bespoke and African Fabric and Design, while Babu styled Amina Abdi and Manasseh Nyaga, whereas Lady Mandy styling Kate Actress. Elsa was styled by South African celebrity stylist Kgosi Lesego. Also gracing this event was Tanzanian film star, comedian, and media personality Idris Sultan.

Nigeria too was well represented by Actresses Sharon Ooja, and Idia Aisien, Chef Hilda Baci, alongside Nigerian Actors Kunle Remi, Emmanuel Taymesan, and Comedian Kie Kie, who was the Red-Carpet Host.
Also gracing the event was Julia Ibrahim, a Ghanaian actress and Producer,Luis Munana, a Namibian Television Star, and South Africa’s Lasizwe Dambuza, a media personality, among others. 

Based on the fourth book, Romancing Mister Bridgerton, in Julia Quinn’s bestselling book series, the season also reveals Lord Debling’s (Sam Phillips) courtship of Penelope. While she’s getting to know her new suitor, Colin realizes how beyond just friendship, there might be something brewing between him and Penelope.

Also features characters such as Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), his new wife Kate (Simone Ashley), Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh), and the Royal Highness Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel), among others.
